adbone BCP

adbone BCP is a porous synthetic ceramic, containing calcium phosphate, designed for the filling of bone defects. The ceramic consists of a mixture of two types of calcium phosphate, 75% hydroxyapatite and 25% tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP). The calcium phosphate ceramics are rapidly osseointegrated due to their chemical composition which is similar to the mineral phase of the human bone, and due to the interconnected porosity allowing a total vascularization of the implant. Since the tricalcium phosphate is more soluble than the hydroxyapatite, this biphasic composition enhances the ceramic resorption, allowing an optimal resorption rate compatible with the physiology of the bone cells. The calcium phosphate ceramic is manufactured in the forms of blocks and granules.

Advantages

  • Safety

100% synthetic. No human nor animal origin.

  • Osteoconductive

Open porosity highly interconnected with a high mechanical resistance.

  • Resorbable

adbone BCP is replaced by new vital bone within 6-24 months. In some cases the resorption time can be larger depending on the size of the defect and the quantity of synthetic bone used. No significant variations of bone density since the bone defect is replaced by natural bone.

  • Radiopaque

Allows the perfect monitorization of osteointegration.

  • Easy handling

The unique 3D dimensional structure with a high interconnected porosity enhances fluid absorption and particle agglomeration facilitating the application of the product on the implant's site.

  • Geometries

Large spectrum of shapes and quantities for the standard fitting.
